I heard Tony Allain was going to be in town, I knew I had to invite him over to my studio for a visit! I’m such a fan and admirer of his vibrant, abbreviated style! He was going to be teaching at the Carrie Moore Studio not far from my studio. I was grateful he agreed to come, knowing that a full day of teaching a workshop can be exhausting even if it’s a good kind of exhausting!
I prepared a few questions that I was curious about, and I asked some of my students to chime and with some questions. When the day arrived, Tony and I sat down for a delightful chat about pastels, being an artist and teaching art!
Tony really needs no introduction as he is very widely acclaimed! He is a regular award winner with his stunning and show stopping work. He lives and works in Scotland, he is an IAPS/Eminent Pastelist, a popular juror, workshop instructor and regular contributor to Artist Magazine and Pastel Journal.
Enjoy the video of our interview/chat! Tony’s enthusiasm and passion for pastels is inspiring and infectious.
